Analysis of a credit sequence of Monsters inc.

The way that 'Monsters inc' has began its film is by opening with the credits. This method of displaying the credits is really effectively done. It immediately has an upbeat and lively jazz soundtrack which is engaging, whilst showing the logos of Walt Disney, and pixar animations - children can already identify that the film is going to be appealing as Disney are one of the leading children's film creators. The credits plays a significant role by revealing to the audience the themes going to be included in the film by displaying images of doors, monsters etc. The use of sound, especially the roars/screams of monsters sets the scene of monsters which is important to establish to a young audience straightaway, which is something that we can use in our work.

Visually, the overall atmosphere that has been created is a very lively, energetic scene that is exciting. Similarly to the sound, the images have the same affect of being lively and colourful. The audience can see a variety of bold and bright colours which would be appealing to children. The pace of the credits is fast moving which keeps the audience interested and entertained the whole way through which is important and what the audience can see is always changing which doesn't bore people. Lastly, the way the credits have been presented does a lot to guide the audience and allows them to get a idea of what to expect from the film, making it very important to do well.
